Remove Metadata from Image removemetadatafromimage.com

Terms of use

Last updated: 15 September 2026. By using removemetadatafromimage.com you agree to these terms.

The service

We provide a free, browser-based tool that strips metadata from image files you choose on your device: EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP, PNG text (including many AI prompts), and C2PA Content Credentials, by redrawing pixels and removing leftover metadata boxes. There is no paid plan required to use the homepage cleaner.

Your files, your rights

You must only process files you have the right to edit. You are responsible for how you use cleaned copies — including posts to Instagram, X, Facebook, WhatsApp, or any other service. We do not review your images.

What the tool does not promise

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to break a law, a contract, or a platform rule that requires disclosure. Do not try to overload the host. Do not scrape the site in a way that harms other visitors. The JavaScript is provided so the cleaner can run; do not wrap it in malware.

No warranty

The tool is provided “as is.” Metadata formats change. We work to strip common JPEG, PNG, WebP and C2PA boxes, but we do not warrant that every future generator tag will be found. Keep originals if you need a forensic copy. We are not liable for lost files, failed posts, or labels a third-party app still shows.

Availability

The website may be down for hosting, DNS, or SSL issues. Because cleaning runs in the browser, you can also keep a local copy of the HTML; hosting is how visitors reach the live domain.

Intellectual property

The site design, copy and domain are ours. Your photos remain yours. We do not claim ownership of files you clean.
